UNDP and the UN

UNDP and the UN System

UNDP is committed to working closely with partners across the UN system.
A total of 23 United Nations organizations are represented in Lao PDR. We work together as the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) to support national development and better lives for all people of the country, especially the poorest and most vulnerable. The United Nations as a whole collaborates closely with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank, as well as the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

While each organisation has programmes and projects in line with its own mandate, the UNCT ensures that these programmes reinforce each other and provide the most effective aid in a well-coordinated manner through the expected outcomes of the Lao PDR - United Nations Partnership Framework. The next Partnership Framework for Lao PDR (2017-2021) was finalised in 2016 and is based on a comprehensive analysis of the root causes of priority national development challenges and of resulting needs to be addressed at all levels.
