UNV recruits a great diversity of talents and offers a variety of volunteer opportunities. There are three distinct modalities of volunteer opportunities available through UNV, each with different application processes. These are:

International UN Volunteers

Those interested in applying for International UN Volunteer Specialist and Youth posts must meet the following criteria:

Youth modality Specialist modality
Aged between 18 and 29 Must be a minimum of 25 years of age
Educational requirements vary according to the needs of the assignment Have completed a university degree or higher technical diploma
Have up to 24 months  of professional experience Have at least 3-5 years of relevant working experience

It is not possible to apply for specific positions. Instead candidates must create a profile on the UNV’s global roster online. Candidates’ profiles are then matched with the assignment that best fits their skills. UN agencies around the world create the demand for the recruitment of UN Volunteers by drafting the terms of references for the assignments. New Descriptions of Assignment reach UNV headquarters every day.
