National Goodwill Ambassador
On the 1st of April 2013, UNDP Lao PDR appointed Alexandra Bounxouei as their first ever National Goodwill Ambassador. In her role as UNDP’s Goodwill Ambassador, Ms. Bounxouei helps us to convey important messages to local communities.
About Alexandra Bounxouei
Alexandra was born in 1987 to a musical family by a Bulgarian mother and a Lao Father. She began her singing career at an early age and released her debut album “Dream” when she was just 16. In addition to her music, she is also well known for acting in popular drama series in Thailand. Alexandra has been actively engaged in educational projects for development organizations as well as for her own foundation for children with Down syndrome.
UNDP Goodwill Ambassadors
UNDP, along with other UN agencies, has long enlisted the voluntary services and support of prominent individuals as Goodwill Ambassadors to highlight important causes. Their fame helps amplify the urgent and universal message of human development and international cooperation.
Goodwill Ambassadors help articulate the UNDP development philosophy of self-reliant opportunities and motivate people to act in the interest of improving their own lives and those of their fellow citizens.
They give their time freely to help UNDP in its challenging mission, and often travel wide stretches for first-hand observation so that they can bring the human development message to the industrialized world.
